Zendesk and Intercom alternative for Discord

Keep Discord support in Discord.

Helpdesks charge per agent seat and move the work to their inbox. OnyxBot runs tickets, AI answers, and your staff tools inside the server your members already live in, for $10/mo flat.

Free plan included. No credit card required.

What the helpdesks get right

Zendesk and Intercom are serious tools for serious support organizations: omnichannel routing, SLAs, compliance, deep reporting. And the Discord story improved in 2026: Intercom shipped a native Discord channel in March that its Fin AI can answer on. If your company already runs a helpdesk across email, chat, and phone, extending it to Discord is a legitimate path, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

But the economics were built for agent teams

Helpdesk pricing is per seat plus per outcome. At annual list prices, five support staff cost about $145/mo on Intercom's cheapest tier or $275/mo on Zendesk Suite Team, and $575 to $660/mo on their mid and top tiers, before AI: Fin bills $0.99 per outcome and Zendesk's Copilot adds $50 per agent per month. That model prices a salaried agent team. A Discord community runs on volunteer and part-time mods, where every extra helper costing $29 to $132 a month is a reason not to add them. And structurally, the work moves to the vendor's web inbox, one more app between your mods and the members they help.

What OnyxBot does instead

The whole desk lives where your members already are. Tickets open from a panel in your server, the AI answers from your docs and past resolutions, staff claim and resolve in the same threads they moderate, and escalations arrive as written briefings. Pricing fits a community: $10/mo flat with every mod included, $5 of AI usage in the price, and a spending cap you set. Reviews, staff performance, and payroll are built in, because mod teams deserve the ops tooling agent teams get.

Helpdesks vs OnyxBot for Discord

The question is not which is more powerful. It is which was built for the way a community runs.

Discord helpdesk FAQ

Does Zendesk work with Discord?

Not natively. Zendesk retired its own Discord integration at the end of 2022, so connecting the two today means third-party connectors or automation tools, with the conversation ultimately handled in the Zendesk workspace. It works, but Discord is an add-on channel to a helpdesk, not the home of the support.

Does Intercom work with Discord?

Yes, and credit where due: Intercom launched a native Discord channel in March 2026, and its Fin AI agent can answer on it. Structurally, Discord messages flow into the Intercom Inbox and your team replies from there. Intercom pricing is per seat, $29 to $132 per person monthly at annual list rates ($39 to $139 billed monthly), plus $0.99 per Fin outcome; check which plans include the Discord channel. If your company already runs Intercom, extending it to Discord is now a real option.

What does a helpdesk cost for a Discord community?

The seat math is the story. Five support staff on the cheapest suites run about $145/mo on Intercom or $275/mo on Zendesk at annual list prices, before AI fees, and $575 to $660/mo on their mid and top tiers. Volunteer mod teams do not fit per-seat pricing: OnyxBot is $10/mo flat with every mod included and $5 of AI usage in the price. List prices last checked August 2026.

When is a real helpdesk the right call?

When Discord is one channel among many and the business runs on the others. If your team handles email, live chat, and phone support with SLAs, compliance requirements, and a paid agent team, Zendesk or Intercom is built for exactly that, and OnyxBot is not. If your community lives in Discord and your staff are Discord mods, moving support out to a web inbox adds cost and distance without adding fit.
